Trump's move against social media cos unlikely to change India's stand

The Indian government has been in the process of finalising amendments to the IT Intermediary Guidelines, which will require platforms to verify their users in order to discourage anonymous posting and need companies like WhatsApp to trace the origin of unlawful messages on court orders, among a host of measures to pin greater responsibility on companies.
